SSL / HTTPS

Switching your site over to using a secure protocol is a fairly simple affair, and Backlight is arguably the simplest part of the process.

Acquire an SSL certificate for your website. This can typically be done through your host, sometimes for free, sometimes for an additional fee.

After getting your SSL certificate, please confirm that your website is accessible using an HTTPS web address. If so, log in to Backlight's admin area, then go to Settings.

1. Update your site's URLs to use the new HTTPS version of your URL.
2. Scroll down to the Privacy section and enable the option, "Automatically Redirect Browsers To https".
